Stó:lö oral history and contemporary culture are presented in this engaging and sensitive narrative, accompanied by superior maps, fine illustrations, a glossary, index and a key to the Sto:lo orthography used in the book. It is aimed at children 8-12 years old, but is a good read for any one interested in the Sto:lo culture. Keith Carlson has worked for several years as a historian for the Stó:lö Nation in Chilliwack, BC. He is the editor of "You are Asked to Witness: The Stó:lö in Canada's Pacific Coast History". Albert McHalsie is the father of Katherine and has worked to promote and preserve tradional Stó:lö culture for years. |
