This is a collection of 11 essays focussing on the Halq'eméylem speaking peoples living along the the lower Fraser River watershed. They cover issues ranging from early contact to present urbanization. Numerous photographs, maps and tables enhance the text, while the viewpoints expressed reflect the diverse backgrounds of the authors. Each chapter has footnotes and recommended further reading lists. Mr. Carlson has been a historian for the Stó:lō Nation. He is also the author of " I am Stó:lō". |
