Soapmakers may love to add a variety of materials to soap, but they find that some cause more trouble than others. In the heat of the chemical reaction, an ingredient might discolor, or lose its scent, or develop a bad smell. Or it might cause problems during soapmaking, giving off noxious fumes, or making the soap harden so fast that there’s no time to pour it in the mold. Help has arrived. Anne L. Watson extends the low-temp techniques from her book “Milk Soapmaking” to making soap from a variety of special ingredients, including cucumber, citrus, pine tar, beer, and wine. Soaps that have long challenged home soapmakers will now pose no problem at all. ///////////////////////////////////////////////// Anne L. Watson is the author of the wildly popular and widely acclaimed beginners book “Smart Soapmaking” and its companions, “Milk Soapmaking” and “Smart Lotionmaking.” She has made soap professionally under the company name Soap Tree, and before her retirement was a historic preservation architecture consultant. Now, by popular demand, she continues her soapmaking revolution with the first practical, comprehensive book on making milk soap from scratch. Experience the rich, soothing, luxurious feel of milk soap you’ve made yourself. Your skin will thank you for it. ///////////////////////////////////////////////// Anne L. A definitive book for experienced as well as beginning milk soapers.” — Rebekah Bailey, The Original Soap Dish, South Whitley, Indiana “An easy to read and understand book that will take the mystery out of milk-based soapmaking and debunk some of the myths surrounding it. It contains some great basic formulas to get you started making milk soaps of any kind, and fuel to let your imagination run wild when you are ready to formulate your own creations. A good source of information for new soapmakers, and also suitable for more experienced soapmakers who want to start making milk soaps but thought it would be too difficult.” — Amanda Guilfoyle, Bodelicious Bath & Body Products, Ipswich, Queensland, Australia “As always, Anne is up to her usual excellence. This book demystifies milk soapmaking so everyone can have the luxury of a truly decadent bar of soap *easily*. LOVE this book!!!” — Susan Kennedy, Oregon Trail Soaps, Rogue River, Oregon “If you have an interest in milk soaps, this is the book for you. . . . Debunks much of the popular wisdom that may have discouraged some soapmakers.” — Kevin M. Dunn, Author, “Scientific Soapmaking” and “Caveman Chemistry” “As uber-soapmaker Anne L. Watson demonstrates, milk soaps made properly are [rightfully] well-known for a quality of luxurious buttery softness that is undeniable. . . . Anne once again acquits herself ably as a scholar of the suds and a natural communicator.” — Wishing Willow (blog) “Enthusiastically recommended.” — Midwest Book Review, Feb. 2009, “Reviewer’s Choice” “Full of information that milk soapers, whether novice or experienced, could use to make better milk soaps. Anne writes in a conversational style that made me feel as though I were sitting down with her in her kitchen. . . . Anne details what seems to be everything there is to know about the subject. Rather than simply offering her opinions and favorite practices, Anne did extensive testing and experimenting, learning how to make the best milk soap bars that could be made. Soapmakers will be impressed with the amount and quality of Anne’s research and observations. . . . That leaves the question: Can a neophyte made good cold-process milk soap? I now say yes, with the caveat they have ‘Milk Soapmaking’ in hand.” — Beth Byrne, “The Saponifier,” Sept.-Oct. 2010

It’s about time someone wrote a book like this. Most are idealistic and inaccurate. This book has a wonderful common sense approach that is SO long overdue. . . . I can recommend it with 100% confidence.” — Susan Kennedy, Oregon Trail Soaps, Rogue River, Oregon “Smart it is . . . . A simple, no-nonsense book that cuts through the curmudgery of stifling soap bibles like no other.” — Shellie Humphries, Harstine Island, Washington “Way overdue. . . . It’s written with the average person in mind, not a chemistry major. Directions are very simple and easy to understand. It really takes the mystery out of making soap.” — Jackie Pack, Stuart, Virginia “Written in an easy, casual style that reminded me of an in-person soapmaking class. The information is practical, helpful, and easy to understand.” — Barb Miller, Miller’s Homemade Soaps, Westfield, Pennsylvania “Groundbreaking . . . . Anne L. Watson [is the] universally respected and loved author/crafter/curator of this lost art for thousands of aspiring soapers . . . . Unquestionably the best book with which to begin. To be precise, it’s probably the most accessible, most reader-friendly, and most immediately useful container of information a first-time soapmaker could hope to find.” — Wishing Willow (blog) “‘Smart Soapmaking’ finally got me over the hump [of fearing lye]. . . . I think Anne Watson is the Elizabeth Zimmermann of the soap world — a frugal, common sense gal, who says, ‘Don’t overcomplicate things. Just make soap.’” — Amanda Blake Soule, author, “The Creative Family” and “Handmade Home,” Soule Mama (blog), Feb. 7, 2012

My name is author Robert Kintigh and I help people………. People just like you to:• Set goals and achieve them!• Smile bigger and be happier!• Sell more at work and become a super star!• Become the best at anything you desire!• Create meaningful relationships!• Build a bigger business!• Make more money!• Raise better children and become better parents• Get over tragic situations in your life• And much more.I help you do this so you can build and live a life that you desire and design on your own. I imagine that is why you have picked up this book? I imagine that you are seeking a better life and maybe even permission to have a better life and I wrote this book so you can do just that.Have you ever had these challenges:• Have you ever felt like you have messed up so bad in life that there is no chance to live any better?• Have you wanted to do something so bad but had no clue if it was even possible for you?• Have you ever woken up in the morning and did not feel like getting out of bed? • Have you ever felt tired of not being the best? The superstar at work? Always feeling like bottom shelf instead of top shelf?• Feeling helpless and wondered where you would find the strength to carry on? I have had some of these very same challenges and I went through a time period where I could not drag myself out of bed. This happened to me right after my Mother passed away. I had no energy, no passion and was willing to throw away everything I had and give up. In fact, I did just that and almost lost everything. I threw away a home I built, businesses that were thriving and a life that was awesome and moved across the country to a place I literally hated. I also have been through many of those other challenges as well.I moved across country to Florida because I thought it was a solution and after a few months realized it was no solution, especially for me. Years earlier I had created a formula for success and as I sat there all alone by myself , feeling sorry for myself and sick to my stomach, I remembered the 10 Essential Steps for Success formula I had created and went and pulled it out. I had re-discovered something that had never failed me and a short while later I was back on top. The 10 steps put me back in the new world. You see the old world did not work for me any more just as you will discover it will no longer work for you. What I am talking about is self-doubt, low self-esteem and worry and wonder. What helped me to become successful was removing my old mindsets and designing new ones. This was my new world and letting myself drift back into that old world thinking was detrimental to me. The old way does not work. The solution is I wrote this book called The Lies We Tell Ourselves as well as a workbook by the same name to remind myself daily about what it is I need to do. The big picture is I have taken down my challenges one by one and did so by the 10 steps and the mindset training in this book. This book is not magical but at times it may seem so. Really this book is a great reminder about who you are and what you really want. This book also reminds you to take time for yourself and discover who you are. Let me teach you the do's and don'ts of reading this book and implementing some of the strategies and how to change your life:Do:• Read this book twice• Read in a quiet place and take notes• Have an open mind• Look for something powerful you can use or try• Read this book if you are serious about changing your life• Go to work immediately• Refer to the book often.Don't:• Have an attitude and closed mind• Think this is not for you• Watch television or have your iPod on while reading this book• Take anything for granted• Read this book if you are not serious• Feel embarrassed• Forget about why you picked up this book. This first thing to do is purchase my book. Then I want you to go find a quiet place and get reading with your pen and paper. Lastly, go to work on what you really want in life!
