Diese Fragen mögen zunächst ungewöhnlich und unklar erscheinen, die im Folgenden jedoch konkret beantwortet werden können. CRM ist nach Ansicht des Verfassers ein passendes Themengebiet aus der Wirtschaftsinformatik, um es mit SVG zu verknüpfen. Kundendatenmanagement ist heutzutage erforderlich für Unternehmen, die ihre Vertriebsprozesse standardisieren wollen. Das CRM gewinnt im ERP-Kontext (Enterprise Resource Planning) immer mehr an Bedeutung, da durch die TQM-Konzepte (Total Quality Management) immer mehr der Kunde (neben dem Produkt) im Vordergrund steht. Es hat sich gezeigt, dass Kundenzufriedenheit genauso wichtig ist wie Produktqualität. Ein CRM-System macht die Kundenzufriedenheit erst evaluierbar. CRM ist ein Werkzeug zur Intensivierung und Steigerung von Kundenbindung, Kundentreue und Kundenrentabilität. Die Gründe für eine solche Ausrichtung liegen auf der Hand. Höherer Wettbewerbsdruck, die Globalisierung und die höheren Qualitätsstandards der Produkte machen die Unternehmen vergleichbar und damit auch austauschbar. Mit SVG ist es möglich, Grafiken zu erstellen. Grafikformate, die konsumentengerechte Bilder und Grafiken darstellen können gibt viele wie zum Beispiel BMP oder JPG. Weshalb nun SVG wählen? SVG ist das einzige Grafikformat, das auf XML (Extensible Markup Language) aufbaut. Mit XML können strukturierte Daten gespeichert werden, d.h. speziell für SVG, dass auf relativ einfache Weise Daten und Datenstrukturen in XML über SVG überführt und visualisiert werden können. Diese Visualisierung geschieht dynamisch, je nach dem welche Daten wie visualisiert werden sollen und vor allem was visualisiert werden soll. Zusätzlich sind Animationen und Interaktionen möglich. Mit dem Bitmap-Format von Windows (BMP) oder dem verlustbehafteten JPG-Format ist zwar eine einfache Darstellung von Daten sicher möglich, aber sie wäre statisch und nicht so flexibel wie SVG. Die Gründe hierfür stellt der Verfasser im Hauptteil dieser Arbeit dar. Die beiden Standards CRM und SVG sind mittlerweile soweit ausgereift, dass sie synergetisch verknüpft werden können. [...]
