Recognize the void in your tactical training Train like you fight Maintain safety at all times Choose targets that force accountability Develop a series of standards Patrick McNamara spent twenty-two years in the United States Army in a myriad of special operations units. When he worked in the premier special missions unit, he became an impeccable marksman, shooting with accurate, lethal results and tactical effectiveness. McNamara has trained tactical applications of shooting to people of all levels of marksmanship, from varsity level soldiers, U.S. Secret Service agents and police officers who work the streets to civilians with little to no time behind the trigger. His military experience quickly taught him that there is more to tactical marksmanship than merely squeezing the trigger. Utilizing his years of experience, McNamara developed a training methodology that is safe, effective and combat relevant and encourages a continuous thought process. This methodology teaches how to maintain safety at all times and choose targets that force accountability, as well as provides courses covering several categories, including individual, collective, on line and standards. TAPS: Tactical Application of Practical Shooting: Recognize the void in your tactical training will increase the confidence and efficiency in your shooting by providing training tips and courses of fire to help you significantly improve your marksmanship. Utilize his tips and techniques and reap the benefits as you shoot.

This is Volume 2 in the Champion Shooting book series. The first volume Champion Shooting, a Proven Process For Success at Any Level, sets you on the path to improvement with the greatest impact for the effort you put in. It provides the foundation for a practice regiment and discusses all facets of training. One of the key aspects of practice discussed in the first volume is the notion of dry-fire. So we took this concept and elaborated on it with a focus on how to fit this method of practice into your overall regimen.Whether it's USPSA, IPSC, IDPA or Steel Challenge practical shooters always seem to be talking about dry-fire. It seems to be generally accepted that dry-fire is an important means of improving your shooting technique. There are many schools of thought pertaining to the use of dry-fire techniques as a means of improvement. Just about everyone thinks it is important, but most people do not seem to implement it into their regular training regimen. Many people use dry-fire extensively for a short time and then stop doing it. We are not quite sure why people stop training through dry-fire although there are many thoughts around this - it can be boring, mundane, not realistic, etc. This book will help you gain an understanding of the following myths concerning its use as a training technique: * You have heard that it's boring? This book will disprove that.* You will not learn anything by using it as a practice method, and you won't get any faster even if you do? The drills within this book will disprove that.* You do not know what to practice? This is a book filled with practice concepts.

INTRODUCTION GAIN ATTENTION. A shooter who participates in a Division Match, while recognized as a proficient shooter, has also been selected to become a representative and participant in the Marine Corps Competition in Arms Program (CIAP). Throughout its history, this program and the events conducted within the program all stress the same principles: the development of proficient and combat-ready Marines through the practice and application of marksmanship fundamentals and shooting techniques. Success in requalification, combat, and competition rely on the shooter's ability to apply what he has learned in these environments. The competitive shooter's goal over the coming weeks will ultimately be to win the match, but the skills and knowledge that he receives will serve him and his fellow Marines long after the competition ends and the medals are awarded. The CIAP's mission to develop and perpetuate effective shooters is the foundation on which each shooter in the Marine Corps may achieve success. 2. OVERVIEW. This lesson will cover an introduction to the CIAP to include history, traditions, objectives, scope, structure, quotas, and awards. 3. INTRODUCE LEARNING OBJECTIVES. The Division Match instruction is structured to prepare the shooter to fire the Division Match Course and is not a component of a formal school program. Therefore, there are no learning objectives. 4. METHOD. This lesson will be taught in a classroom setting using lecture. 5. EVALUATION. The Division Match instruction is structured to prepare the shooter to fire the Division Match Course and is not a component of a formal school program. Therefore, students are not evaluated on this material. The Special Operations Executive (SOE) was the paramount Allied sabotage force of the Second World War. Its job - in Churchill's words - was to "set Europe ablaze" through the use of sabotage, insurrection and assassination. One of its "shining Stars" and "legends" was the close-combat pistol instructor, Colonel Hector Grant-Taylor. Grant-Taylor taught the commandos, secret agents and irregular soldiers the art of how to kill at close quarters. He taught them how to be ruthless, lethal and covert, and yet his own life was itself a mystery worthy of a John Buchan thriller novel. Misinformation, deception, bravery, murder, and ultimately redemption, all play a part in his story. At Close Quarters finally puts to rest the myths and legends that surrounded his life, and unravels the mysterious truth behind the enigma that was Colonel Hector Grant-Taylor!

Traveling on Your Own Traveling in Your Car Relationships Going Wrong No Means No To drink Or Not to Drink; That Is the Question Learning How to Fight Back How to Protect Yourself Against Grabs Conclusion Author Bio Publisher Introduction I wrote this book to share what I have learned in gun handling and to give some idea, not only to women but also to men, of how a woman perceives this man-dominated “gadget” or equipment. I would say that 99% of women who know how to handle a gun or who are engaged in practical shooting as a sport, were influenced by a male in their lives whether it is the father, husband, brother, boyfriend, uncle or a male friend. Gun ownership, inarguably, is a man’s world. But, it did not say that women cannot dip their fingers to it, if it is necessary, or even if she was just plain interested. In my case, the guilty party was my husband who suavely got my nod, first, for him to own a gun and later on, to join him on his shooting practice, tournaments and gun shows. I have to admit that in the beginning, I would cringe whenever I would see him working on his gun (and later on guns). I always have this thought that it will discharge accidentally and someone could get hurt. At that time, I could not even hold a gun. But then, gradually, I warmed up to it ---- I started holding the gun (no bullets, of course) until later on, my husband would be training me on how to hold it properly, how to get the right stance and eventually how to fire it. Believe it or not, within months, I was going with him on his practice shooting and tournaments. At first, I was the photographer and videographer. Eventually, I would be doing my own practice sessions and would join him on tournaments.
