"This book explains why so many efforts by liberals to help the black underclass not only fail but often harm the intended beneficiaries. The intentions behind welfare programs may be noble, but in practice they have slowed the self-development that was necessary for other groups to advance. Minimum-wage laws may lift earnings for people who are already employed, but they also have a long history of pricing blacks out of the labor force. Affirmative action in higher education was intended to address past discrimination, but the result is fewer black college graduates, particularly in the fields of math and science, than would have existed in the absence racial preferences. And so it goes with everything from occupational licensing requirements, which make it more difficult for blacks to start businesses, to soft-on-crime laws that make black neighborhoods more dangerous, to policies that limit school choice out of a mistaken belief that charter schools and voucher programs harm the traditional public schools that most low-income students attend. In theory these efforts are intended to help the poor, and poor minorities in particular. In practice they become barriers to moving forward. Please Stop Helping Us lays bare these counterproductive results. People of good will want to see more black socio-economic advancement, but in too many instances the current methods and approaches aren't working. Acknowledging that is an important first step"--

Race pimping has cost America TRILLIONS of dollars, as the money in race guilt is fantastic. Politicians line their pockets and those of family and friends, while delivering little to nothing to their constituents or the community at large. ********************************************************************* Don't know whether to buy this book or not, then you are a racist sellout! Just kidding. But it does mean you are likely cheap, and not to go all Shawshank on you, but salvation lies within! To help you get over the hump, here are a few excerpts to ponder: "The money in diversity is enormous, even bigger than former sportscaster turned political pundit turned sportscaster Keith Olbermann's ego." "Wouldn't you like to be a "reverend" and father children out of wedlock without repercussions? If you study hard, this book will teach you how to have your non-profit organization pay your mistress and your child support - all at the same time." "You must be so black that if you eat sushi, watch reruns of Dawson's Creek and Friends, or enjoy the ballet, you will hang yourself." "Everything your constituency does or think must be viewed through the very narrow prism of blackness. They must talk black, walk black, think black, read black, eat black, drink black, dress black, smell black, sneeze black, cough black, yawn black, surf the Internet black, and even urinate black. Failure to do so has consequences." ********************************************************************* Other books written by Kevin Jackson: The BIG Black Lie: How I Learned The Truth About The Democrat Party Sexy Brilliance: ...and other political lies!

With uncompromising clarity, Jim Sleeper discusses what liberals need to do to return their political movement to the vital center. He challenges us to transcend race, to reject the foolish policies and attitudes that have only reinforced racial divisions, and to weave a social fabric sturdy enough to sustain the values upon which this country was founded.

Since the summer of 2014, America has been convulsed with a protest movement known as Black Lives Matter. That movement holds that police officers are among the greatest threats--if not the greatest threat--facing young black males today. Policing and the rest of the criminal justice system--from prosecutors to drug laws--single out minority communities for gratuitous and heavy-handed enforcement, the charge goes, resulting in an epidemic of "mass incarceration” that falls most heavily on blacks. This book challenges that narrative. Through vivid, street-level reporting, it gives voice to the many residents of high-crime neighborhoods, rarely heard in the media, who support proactive policing and want more of it. The book will argue that there is no government agency more dedicated to the proposition that Black Lives Matter than today’s data-driven, accountable police department. In New York City alone, over ten thousand minority males are alive who would have been killed had the New York Police Department not brought homicide in the city down 80% from its early 1990’s level. The intelligence-led policing revolution that began in New York and spread nationally has transformed urban neighborhoods, freeing their residents from the thrall of daily fear. Other topics include such contested tactics as stop, question, and frisk and "broken windows” policing. The book will refute the argument that racist drug statutes and enforcement lie behind the black incarceration rate. It will take the reader inside prisons and jails. And it will argue that proactive policing has been the greatest public policy success story of the last quarter century, resulting in a record-breaking national crime drop that no criminologist or even police chief foresaw. That crime drop is now at risk, however, thanks to the nonstop agitation against the police led by the Black Lives Matter movement. The book is a call for a more honest and informed debate about policing, crime, and race, before the public safety gains of the last twenty years are lost.

CONSIDER THIS SHOCKING FACT: while China’s number one export to the United States is $46 billion of computer equipment, the number one export from the U.S. to China is waste—$7.6 billion of waste paper and scrap metal. Bestselling author Clyde Prestowitz reveals the astonishing extent of the erosion of the fundamental pillars of American economic might—beginning well before the 2008 financial crisis—and the great challenge we face for the future in competing with the economic juggernaut of China and the other fast-rising economies. As the arresting facts he introduces show, the U.S. is rapidly losing the basis of its wealth and power, as well as its freedom of action and independence. If we do not make dramatic changes quickly, we will confront a painful permanent slide in our standard of living; the dollar will no longer be the world’s currency; our military strength will be whittled away; and we will be increasingly subject to the will of China, Russia, Saudi Arabia, and various malcontents. But it doesn’t have to be that way. As Prestowitz shows in a masterful account of how we’ve come to this fateful juncture, we have inflicted our economic decline on ourselves—we abandoned the extraordinary approach to growth that drove the country’s remarkable rise to superpower status from the early days of the republic up through World War II. For most of our history, we supported our home industries, protected our market against unfair trade, made the world’s finest products—leading the way in technological innovation—and we were strong savers. But in the post-WWII era, we reversed course as our leadership embraced a set of simplistically attractive but disastrously false ideas—that consumption rather than production should drive our economy; that free trade is always a win-win; that all globalization is good; that the market is always right and government regulation or intervention in the economy always causes more harm than good; and that it didn’t matter that our factories were fleeing overseas because we were moving to the "higher ground" of services. In a devastating account, Prestowitz shows just how flawed this orthodoxy is and how it has gutted the American economy. The 2008 financial crisis was only its most blatant and recent consequence. It is time to abandon these false doctrines and to get back to the American way of growth that brought us to world leadership; Prestowitz presents a deeply researched and powerful set of highly practical steps that we can begin implementing immediately to reverse course and restore our economic leadership and excellence. The Betrayal of American Prosperity is vital reading for all Americans concerned about the future of the economy and of our power in the coming era.
