The film Fahrenheit 9/11 convinces nearly all who see it-and believe it-that George Bush was unfit to lead on 9/11 and beyond. Fahrenheit 9-12-this book-convinces nearly all who read it that a review of the sources of virtually every frame and every claim in the film reveals that virtually everything in Fahrenheit 9/11 is arguably misleading or inaccurate. Fahrenheit 9-12 is not for everyone-it is just for those intellectually honest people who hate President Bush, as well as for those who do not. The Bush-bashers are doomed to four years of misery and frustration unless the distortions on which they base their bashes will be exposed to them. Fahrenheit 9-12 brings relief to those who have taken Michael Moore's criticisms of President Bush to heart, and who have suffered heartache or heartburn ever since. Many people who do not hate President Bush will be relieved and reinvigorated once they discover the lack of merit of most of the film's assaults on Bush's character, intelligence, and judgment. Readers who saw or boycotted Moore's film can appreciate Reichel's rebuttals enough to want to show his book to-or buy copies for-friends, colleagues, team-mates, teachers, students, and/or relatives who believe that Fahrenheit 9/11-the film-deserves even a fraction of the respect, acclaim and/or popularity it has received, thereby reducing tension in many personal or even professional relationships. Fahrenheit 9-12-this book-replaces ad hominem discord with rational discourse.

Michael Moore-Oscar-winning filmmaker, bestselling author, and the nation's official provocateur laureate-is back, this time taking on an entirely new role, that of his own meta-Forrest Gump. Smashing the autobiographical mold, Moore presents twenty-four far-ranging, irreverent, and stranger-than-fiction vignettes from his own early life. One moment he's an eleven-year-old boy lost in the U.S. Senate and found by Bobby Kennedy; and in the next, he's inside the Bitburg cemetery with a dazed and confused Ronald Reagan. Fast-forwarding to 2003, he stuns the world from the Oscar stage by uttering the words "We live in fictitious times . . . with a fictitious president" in place of the usual "I'd like to thank the Academy." And none of that even comes close to the night the friendly priest at the seminary decides to show him how to perform his own exorcism. Capturing the zeitgeist of the past fifty years, yet deeply personal and unflinchingly honest, HERE COMES TROUBLE takes readers on an unforgettable, take-no-prisoners ride through the life and times of Michael Moore. Alternately funny, eye-opening, and moving, it's the book he has been writing-and living-his entire life.

Will They Ever Trust Us Again? brings together hundreds of never-before-published letters that Mike has been sent - from GIs serving in Iraq and Afghanistan, from troops in US bases, from their mothers, wives and friends back home, from veterans who've fought around the globe - to show the reality beneath the political spin and TV propaganda. Their politics may vary from the Bushwhacked to the patriotic, but they all feel let down and lied to by government, they know the human cost of waging wars for the rich - and now they've had enough. Explosive, angry, moving and funny, this book shows who's really winning the battle for hearts and minds on the front line.

Americans today are working harder, working longer and yet for most of us, in this time of ruthless downsizing and political cronyism, job security, a decent standard of living and a comfortable retirement are becoming harder and harder to find. In this brilliantly funny and right-on-target diatribe, irreverent everyman Michael Moore gives his own bold views on who's behind the fading of the American dream. Whether issuing Corporate Crook trading cards, organizing a Rodney King Commemorative Riot, sending a donation to Pat Buchanan from the John Wayne Gacy fan club (which was accepted) or trying to commit former right-wing congressman Bob Dornan to a mental hospital, the in-your-face host of TV Nation and director/star of Roger & Me combines an expansive wit with biting social commentary to make you think and laugh at the same time. In hardcover, Downsize This! stormed the bestseller lists of the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Washington Post, San Francisco Chronicle and others. Given Michael Moore's enormous -- and growing -- constituency, this trade paperback edition brings his unique perspective on the nation to an even greater audience.

In this explosive, controversial, and profoundly alarming insider’s report, Senator Bob Graham reveals faults in America’s national security network severe enough to raise fundamental questions about the competence and honesty of public officials in the CIA, the FBI, and the White House. For ten years, Senator Graham served on the Senate Intelligence Committee, where he had access to some of the nation’s most closely guarded secrets. Following the attacks of September 11, 2001, Graham co-chaired a historic joint House-Senate inquiry into the intelligence community’s failures. From that investigation and his own personal fact-finding, Graham discovered disturbing evidence of terrorist activity and a web of complicity: • At one point, a terrorist support network conducted some of its operations through Saudi Arabia’s U.S. embassy–and a funding chain for terrorism led to the Saudi royal family. • In February 2002, only four months after combat began in Afghanistan, the Bush administration ordered General Tommy Franks to move vital military resources out of Afghanistan for an operation against Iraq–despite Franks’s privately stated belief that there was a job to finish in Afghanistan, and that the war on terrorism should focus next on terrorist targets in Somalia and Yemen. • Throughout 2002, President Bush directed the FBI to limit its investigations of Saudi Arabia, which supported some and possibly all of the September 11 hijackers. • The White House was so uncooperative with the bipartisan inquiry that its behavior bore all the hallmarks of a cover-up. • The FBI had an informant who was extremely close to two of the September 11 hijackers, and actually housed one of them, yet the existence of this informant and the scope of his contacts with the hijackers were covered up. • There were twelve instances when the September 11 plot could have been discovered and potentially foiled. • Days after 9/11, U.S. authorities allowed some Saudis to fly, despite a complete civil aviation ban, after which the government expedited the departure of more than one hundred Saudis from the United States. • Foreign leaders throughout the Middle East warned President Bush of exactly what would happen in a postwar Iraq, and those warnings went either ignored or unheeded. As a result of his Senate work, Graham has become convinced that the attacks of September 11 could have been avoided, and that the Bush administration’s war on terrorism has failed to address the immediate danger posed by al-Qaeda, Hezbollah, and Hamas in Afghanistan, Syria, Yemen, and Somalia. His book is a disturbing reminder that at the highest levels of national security, now more than ever, intelligence matters. From the Hardcover edition.
