In 1990, New City Press, in conjunction with the Augustinian Heritage Institute, began the project knows as: The Works of Saint Augustine, A Translation for the 21st Century. The plan is to translate and publish all 132 works of Saint Augustine, his entire corpus into modern English. This represents the first time in which The Works of Saint Augustine will all be translated into English. Many existing translations were often archaic or faulty, and the scholarship was outdated. New City Press is proud to offer the best modern translations available. The Works of Saint Augustine, A Translation for the 21st Century will be translated into 49 published books. To date, 41 books have been published by NCP containing 93 of The Works of Saint Augustine, A Translation for the 21st Century. Augustine's writings are useful to anyone interested in patristics, church history, theology and Western civilization. -- Publisher.

OUR MISSION IN THESE SIX BOOKS 1.Growing Decline in World Peace We started our long journey in these six Books with an expression of concern over the growing decline in world peace. Our Mission throughout our Six Books had therefore focused on our views on how the state of World Peace can be advanced. 2. Enhancing unity between Christianity and Secularity. We expressed at the beginning of our first Book that one major source of the growing decline in world peace is the on-going wars and crises between the Religious and Secular worlds of today. This source of global crises had been acknowledged in a recent conference of global Religious Leaders held in Assisi at the invitation of Pope Benedict XVI. The Conference participants resolved unanimously to address this source of crises in world peace. Global Secular Leaders had also expressed much concern on the growing decline in world peace. They did so again at the last meeting of the United Nations General Assembly in New York. 3.Our Mission to contribute to Pope Benedict XVIs New Evangelization In our view, the recent launching of the New Evangelization by Pope Benedict XVI reflected in part the resolution of Religious Leaders in the Assisi Conference to find ways of addressing the growing decline in world peace due partly to Religious conflicts with Secularity across the world. The Pope called on all Lay members of the Catholic Church and Christians in general to contribute to the success of the Popes New Evangelization-PCNE. As we expressed throughout our six books, our mission in these Books is to respond to the call by Pope Benedict XVI. 4. Military and Secular Perspectives on the Religious and Secular Peace We stated clearly from the start, that our contribution would reflect on the military and secular aspects of the growing conflicts between Christianity and Secularity, using the global experience in both sectors by our Author throughout his career. We had to take these perspectives because we must identify the source, leadership and strategies in the wars and conflicts between the Religious and Secular worlds . Unless we know the leaders in the conflicts and their missions we cannot achieve any progress in resolving these wars and crises and enhance the level of world peace. 5. My Background A few words of introduction on my background may enable the Reader understand my perspectives in these Books. I started the project of writing the Books because I am convinced that I can contribute to the PCNE by bringing my African background in Nigeria, education at the London School of Economics and exposure to global secular governance through my position as a former Economic Adviser with The U.K. Government and a Senior Economist at The World Bank. 6. Operator #5, a secret service ace, appeared in more than 48 novels in a classic pulp magazine bearing his name. From April 1934 to November 1939, Jimmy Christopher fought villains from inside the United States and invaders from without. With World War II looming on the horizon, the Operator #5 books became a reflection of the times -- none more so than when a fascist dictator appears to take over the U.S. government! One of the bloodiest pulps ever produced, full of thrill-a-minute action and peril, Blood Reign of the Dictator is a classic entry in the series.

Perfect for fans of Lauren Haney and Wilbur Smith. 'Paul Doherty weaves an intricate story with clues littered among the pages' - Historical Novels Review The location of Rahimere's tomb, somewhere deep in the desert, has long been kept a closely guarded secret. Is She Really Leaving Forever? Tracing the difficulties and joys of carving out a life from the Dakota sod in the second half of the 800s, Tender Mercies continues Snelling's Red River saga and will pull your heartstrings and make you feel the joys and frustrations of life on the open lands of the 9th century mid-west. The rich farmlands of the Dakota Territory in 1887 are finally beginning to yield the abundant harvest the pioneers had dreamed about so long. The establishment of the railroad has brought significant changes to the small town of Blessing as well as prosperity to the Bjorklund family and their neighbors. Among the townsfolk, Reverend John Solberg--despite being wary of matchmaking efforts in the past--is developing a friendship with a delightful young woman through their common love of books. Mary Martha has a gentle southern charm that wins everyone in her circle but too soon she is called on to return home to care for her mother. She leaves behind many heavy hearts and countless questions of whether it will be the last time to see her.

Ashley Savage grew up in a troubled home with a competitive, pampered sister and an abusive mother who played at being a Christian when she needed to...and led Ashley to more addictions than one child could handle. As an adult, Ashley tells herself she's put the extreme fears of the past behind her, but she spends most of her time repairing the crumbling wall holding back the horrors she's not willing to face ever again. The one man who has the annoying habit of getting through her defenses is Jay Samuels, a military chaplain and soon-to-be pastor. Much as Ashley wants to leave him behind, Jay is ambitious to a fault where she's concerned. He hears only what he wants to hear-and he doesn't want to hear that she doesn't love him as much as he loves her. But even Jay doesn't realize the extent of all she's buried...and what keeps her from giving herself willingly to the God she knows is drawing her inexorably to Himself, to the one place she can't run, where she can no longer hide...
