Since then, 20 innovative models have followed, each with the same sleek lines, smooth handling, and peerless reliability and efficiency displayed by that first Falcon. Today there are more than 1,500 Dassault Falcon jets flying in the U.S. Published to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the legendary Falcon 20, designed under the leadership of company founder Marcel Dassault with the help of Charles Lindbergh and Juan Trippe—two other aviation visionaries—this richly illustrated book tells the story of this legendary plane and the remarkable models that followed. Why is Memphis home to hundreds of motor carrier terminals and distribution centers? Why does the tiny island-nation of Singapore handle a fifth of the world's maritime containers and half the world's annual supply of crude oil? Which jobs can replace lost manufacturing jobs in advanced economies? Some of the answers to these questions are rooted in the phenomenon of logistics clusters--geographically concentrated sets of logistics-related business activities. In this book, supply chain management expert Yossi Sheffi explains why Memphis, Singapore, Chicago, Rotterdam, Los Angeles, and scores of other locations have been successful in developing such clusters while others have not. Sheffi outlines the characteristic "positive feedback loop" of logistics clusters development and what differentiates them from other industrial clusters; how logistics clusters "add value" by generating other industrial activities; why firms should locate their distribution and value-added activities in logistics clusters; and the proper role of government support, in the form of investment, regulation, and trade policy. Sheffi also argues for the most important advantage offered by logistics clusters in today's recession-plagued economy: jobs, many of them open to low-skilled workers, that are concentrated locally and not "offshorable." These logistics clusters offer what is rare in today's economy: authentic success stories. For this reason, numerous regional and central governments as well as scores of real estate developers are investing in the development of such clusters. What could be more relaxing? An unanticipated holiday takes the three San Martín brothers to the remote peninsula La Guajira in Colombia. Under no obligation to either of their employers, the Gendarmería Nacional of Argentina or the London-based World Designs Ltd., the young men think that at long last, they will have some downtime. But think again! Their planned trip of leisure takes several unexpected twists. To their annoyance, they manage to get sucked into a murder investigation. The discovery of the body unearths a conspiracy to smuggle cocaine from Colombia into neighboring Venezuela. Then, with their luck running from bad to worse, they find themselves caught in the crosshairs of a long-running family feud in the northern peninsula. However, it is the entrance of one small Wayuu boy who materializes on the center stage of the action that turns upside down not only their holiday, but also their lives.

This is a completely new and revised edition of the General Aviation Handbook, long overdue since it has been over 10 years since the last edition was published. This edition is fully revised and updated and contains 10 years worth of updated material, including the addition of a number of manufacturers and aircraft which were omitted from earlier editions for various reasons. Aircraft new to this edition include the so-called "heavy microlights", which are now an important part of the worldwide light aircraft scene. About 90 percent of the photos are new, and larger page size provides greater space for large data tables and photos. Previous editions have been strong sellers; this is the main reference book on this important sector of the aviation world, and this new edition will be welcomed by both aviation enthusiasts and those involved in the aviation industry.
