Boozing. Womanizing. Brawling. Singing. For the last forty years George Jones has reigned as the country's king--the singer many have called the Frank Sinatra of country. And for most of that time, his career has been marked by hard-living, hard-loving, and hard luck. From his early east Texas recordings through his marriage with Tammy Wynette to his latest acclaim as a solid citizen and "high-tech red-neck," Americans have been fascinated with Jones, never even knowing whether he's going to show up for his next concert. Now, in I Lived To Tell It All, George Jones supplies a no-holds-barred account of his excesses and ecstasies. How alcohol ruled his life and performances. How violence marred many friendships and relationships. How money was something to be made but never held on to. And, finally, how the love of a good woman can ultimately change a man, redeem him, and save his life.

During the Harlem Renaissance, several literary periodicals encouraged African American women to submit poetry, short stories, essays, or other literary contributions for publication. Opportunity magazine was one such periodical that made immeasurable contributions to the careers of many female African American writers. This anthology collects all of the short stories published in Opportunity by African American women during the magazine's 25 years of publication. It includes works by both well-known authors (Zora Neale Hurston, Marita Bonner) and more obscure writers. There is also an additional African tale translated by Violette de Mazia, a white woman known for promoting African American art. It also includes an introduction which contextualizes the short stories historically in light of the overall development of African American writing.

An honest and revealing memoir from musician David Crosby, founding member of The Byrds and Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young. A true rock-and-roll survivor, David Crosby has not slowed down since his New York Times bestselling memoir Long Time Gone. Reunited with his adult son while awaiting a liver transplant, becoming a famous sperm donor (to Melissa Etheridge and Julie Cypher), coming back from a crippling motorcycle accident, losing his house in an earthquake, and through it all making beautiful music, David Crosby once again reveals all with self-skewering humor and honesty—as only he can. “A fascinating life worthy of a sequel.”—Entertainment Weekly
