Frozen In Time: A Collection of My Thoughts is a window into the mind of girl searching for love, her place in a world she doesnt fit and most importantly herself. You witness the struggle she goes through involving the ever changing dynamics of her family, the loyalty (and sometimes lack thereof) of friends, the ups, downs and confusion of relationships, and her perception of herself in comparison to what others see and desire her to be. As with life, Frozen in Time will take you on a roller coaster ride full of joyous highs and painful lows. I wrote this, not as a book in the beginning, but as a therapy to help me get through the most difficult of times in my life. I love to read and many authors have given me stories I relate to. Over the years I was encouraged by many to publish these thoughts for others to enjoy. My goal in this is to let people, who go through the same things I went through, know that they are not alone. Someone else in the world can feel the very pain or struggle you may be going through. There is hope.

I had read somewhere during my childhood that there are only seven wonders in the world. I was probably around eight or nine years old at the time. Since then, I started thinking, Why dont I become the eighth wonder of the world? Literally, yes! Hilarious but it came from the bottom of my heart, so I have to honor it wholeheartedly. I decided, Why dont I plan on becoming someone extraordinary? Someone with a bold point of view about life, a pioneer by free will. No offense to anyone or any circumstance but I had to listen to my gut feeling about what I would become in my life. I had a fascination for so many things during that age that I couldnt decide what I would be. I knew it would be very challenging for me to challenge myself to be someone so authentic (at least thats what I always thought about geniuses). I realized that the best way to find ideas would be to read books, read books here and there, everywhere. Whatever I found, I would just start reading. Sometimes I used to read books so much that I used to get severe headaches, but at the same time, lots of ideas used to spur in my head, so much that I would just be overwhelmed with ideas. I wish I had jotted down all those ideas that came into my mind at the time. I regret! But I always go by the rule that its never too late to inaugurate anything. Thats why I never gave up the idea of becoming an authornot just an author but a writer of something honestly interesting, something out of the box. I wanted to write about my thoughts so accurately that people could literally visualize what they might be missing out when it comes to enduring their thoughts or points of view about life and the overall universe.

Heroes are ordinary people, elusive to most. They are quiet and live in the corners of the universe waiting with anticipation for us to discover their beliefs and their wisdom. To become someone's hero you must not impose, but impress. Those who have impressed us with their deeds stand with open arms waiting to give us their strength. We must dare to take advantage of their strength and use it to our benefit, to become powerful beings. With our heroes by our side our minds will become skilful generals and they will be our armies to help us win the battles of life. When we are young we think we have the strength and the toughness to go through life depending only on the powers we posses within. But as we become older the strength slowly leaves us. Our minds become weaker to the sense of pain and wiser to the approach of suffering. It is not accidental that the older we grow the more we are in need of heroes. They help us build our confidence to accomplish what we thought was impossible.

My Thoughts provides a unique window into the mind of one of the undisputed pioneers of modern thought, the author of the 1748 classic, The Spirit of the Laws. From the publication in 1721 of his first masterpiece, Persian Letters, until his death in 1755, Montesquieu maintained notebooks in which he wrote and dictated ideas on a wide variety of topics. Some of the contents are early drafts of passages that Montesquieu eventually placed in his published works; others are outlines or early versions of projected works that were ultimately lost, unfinished, or abandoned. These notebooks provide important insights into his views on a broad range of topics, including morality, religion, history, law, economics, finance, science, art, and constitutional liberty. Montesquieu called these notebooks Mes Pensées (My Thoughts), and they appear in their entirety in English for the first time in this Liberty Fund edition. Editor and translator Henry C. Clark provides readers with translations of most of the footnotes contained in the 1991 French edition by Louis Desgraves, while adding new notes, a bibliography, and other aids to understanding the text and translation. These features provide the frame for a revealing portrait of one of the most influential figures of the eighteenth century. Henry C. Clark is a Visiting Professor in the Political Economy Project at Dartmouth College. He has written two books and numerous articles, mainly on the French and Scottish Enlightenments. Please note: This title is available as an ebook for purchase on Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and iTunes.

The scene of John Wilkes Booth shooting Abraham Lincoln in Ford’s Theatre is among the most vivid and indelible images in American history. The literal story of what happened on April 14, 1865, is familiar: Lincoln was killed by John Wilkes Booth, a lunatic enraged by the Union victory and the prospect of black citizenship. Yet who Booth really was—besides a killer—is less well known. The magnitude of his crime has obscured for generations a startling personal story that was integral to his motivation. My Thoughts Be Bloody, a sweeping family saga, revives an extraordinary figure whose name has been missing, until now, from the story of President Lincoln’s death. Edwin Booth, John Wilkes’s older brother by four years, was in his day the biggest star of the American stage. He won his celebrity at the precocious age of nineteen, before the Civil War began, when John Wilkes was a schoolboy. Without an account of Edwin Booth, author Nora Titone argues, the real story of Lincoln’s assassin has never been told. Using an array of private letters, diaries, and reminiscences of the Booth family, Titone has uncovered a hidden history that reveals the reasons why John Wilkes Booth became this country’s most notorious assassin. These ambitious brothers, born to theatrical parents, enacted a tale of mutual jealousy and resentment worthy of a Shakespearean tragedy. From childhood, the stage-struck brothers were rivals for the approval of their father, legendary British actor Junius Brutus Booth. After his death, Edwin and John Wilkes were locked in a fierce contest to claim his legacy of fame. This strange family history and powerful sibling rivalry were the crucibles of John Wilkes’s character, exacerbating his political passions and driving him into a life of conspiracy. To re-create the lost world of Edwin and John Wilkes Booth, this book takes readers on a panoramic tour of nineteenth-century America, from the streets of 1840s Baltimore to the gold fields of California, from the jungles of the Isthmus of Panama to the glittering mansions of Gilded Age New York. Edwin, ruthlessly competitive and gifted, did everything he could to lock his younger brother out of the theatrical game. As he came of age, John Wilkes found his plans for stardom thwarted by his older sibling’s meteoric rise. Their divergent paths—Edwin’s an upward race to riches and social prominence, and John’s a downward spiral into failure and obscurity—kept pace with the hardening of their opposite political views and their mutual dislike. The details of the conspiracy to kill Lincoln have been well documented elsewhere. My Thoughts Be Bloody tells a new story, one that explains for the first time why Lincoln’s assassin decided to conspire against the president in the first place, and sets that decision in the context of a bitterly divided family—and nation. By the end of this riveting journey, readers will see Abraham Lincoln’s death less as the result of the war between the North and South and more as the climax of a dark struggle between two brothers who never wore the uniform of soldiers, except on stage.

Reflections Of My Thoughts depicts a woman who is torn between her flesh, her spirit, and her underlying desire for freedom, strength, and the ability to dream again, represented by the unicorn, in whatever form it may be. However, her questions and desire for understanding who she believes she is with where she is in life ultimately lead her on a spiritual journey. It is an attempt to articulate the challenges that she faces with her flesh such as jealousy, lust, anger, true friendship, self-imagery, and faith. This is a story of a woman who learns that her ability to persevere through challenges, her real freedom, strength, ability to dream, and ultimately her identity comes not from her, rather, Jesus Christ who has sustained her even when she didn't realize or acknowledge He existed.

As we live out our daily lives, none can deny that it is difficult to maintain a positive outlook at all times. We each approach this challenge differently, attempting in our own ways to make the best of a given situation, provide ourselves and others with encouragement, take care of ourselves, and so on. What many fail to consider, and what believers may sometimes need to be reminded of, is that the only way to give ourselves the best shot at a positive lifestyle is by doing it God's way. The Bible tells us very clearly what the key components to such a lifestyle are, and how to embody them-but do we spend enough time meditating on God's Word to recognize them? Do we have the help we need to point us in the right direction, or examples to follow in our own circles? In Meditation and My Thoughts on Life, the author presents her personal views on the values of giving deep, concentrated time to God and one's own spiritual state. The book leads readers through key insights on the different qualities that effective Christians must possess, and demonstrates these attributes for the reader in the form of acrostic poems based upon people the author knows personally, who embody the characteristics mentioned in the book. If you're looking for direction into a positive lifestyle, in the form of one woman's love letter to the people who helped her find hers, this book is for you.
