Jesus or Muhammad: A Question of Assurance Two people have radically influenced the world: Jesus and Muhammad. One name invokes some people to love their enemies. The other name invokes some people to hate those who insult that name. However, movements in the West with varying agendas, infatuated with words like "co-exist," "tolerance," and "inclusivism," shove all the key differences between faiths under a rug without any discussion over them. Yet History and Experience tell us that it is good to freely talk about differences in order to understand each other's faith. Steven Masood examines how followers of Jesus and followers of Muhammad use different dictionaries for the definition of peace, love, grace, and mercy. He delves into the Bible and the Qur'an, investigating how both present the creation and the patriarchs. While the Bible stops with Jesus and his disciples, the Qur'an brings Muhammad on the scene. Masood deals sensitively with questions like: Is the Qur'an the continuation of the Bible? Did Jesus promise the coming of Muhammad? Is Jesus or Muhammad the "final messenger" with the authority of assurance from God? What guidance was promised to Adam, to restore him and his progeny to God? If Jews, Christians, and Muslims believe in the same God, why the different messages? Steven Masood, PhD, has spent over 30 years studying and working in Christian-Muslim relations. At present, he holds workshops and seminars with a Biblical and Qur'anic perspective on Islam. He has written several books, including The Bible and the Qur'an: A Question of Integrity. Currently he serves in full-time Christian ministry. More info: www.JesusToMuslims.org

Jesus and Muhammad are two of the best known and revered figures in history, each with a billion or more global followers. Now, in this intriguing volume, F.E. Peters offers a clear and compelling analysis of the parallel lives of Jesus and Muhammad, the first such in-depth comparison in print. Like a detective, Peters compiles "dossiers" of what we do and do not know about the lives and portraits of these towering figures, drawing on the views of modern historians and the evidence of the Gospels and the Quran. With erudition and wit, the author nimbly leads the reader through drama and dogma to reveal surprising similarities between the two leaders and their messages. Each had a public career as a semi-successful preacher. Both encountered opposition that threatened their lives and those of their followers. Each left a body of teaching purported to be their very words, with an urgent imperative that all must become believers in the face of the approaching apocalypse. Both are symbols of hope on the one hand and of God's terrible judgment on the other. They are bringers of peace--and the sword. There is, however, a fundamental difference. Muslims revere Muhammad ibn Abdullah of Mecca as a mortal prophet. Although known as a prophet in his day, the Galilean Jew Jesus was and is believed by his followers to have been the promised Messiah, indeed the son of God. The Quran records revelations received by Muhammad as the messenger of God, whereas the revelations of the Gospels focus on Jesus and the events of his life and death. A lasting contribution to interfaith understanding, Jesus and Muhammad offers lucid, intelligent answers to questions that underlie some of the world's most intractable conflicts.

Jesus and Muhammad lived in different times and in different contexts. An absolute comparison of the careers of these two men is not a satisfactory method in understanding the similarities and differences between their teachings. This book approaches this topic from a different perspective. The time that Muhammad preached in Mecca is compared to the time Jesus spent preaching throughout Palestine. This improves the similarities in contexts between them and makes a comparison more valid. The number of similarities outweighs the number of differences when looking at the four books of the Gospel and the chapters of the Qur'an revealed in Mecca. On issues related to prayer, the Oneness of God, charity, the Hereafter and forgiveness the teachings in these two books are practically the same. A number of core theological issues surfaced in the Book of John do clash with Qur’anic teachings about the person of Jesus. These differences and the possible reasons for them are explored in this book. The conclusion of this book is that Muslims and Christians have more shared values and even theological similarities than differences. It is recommended that Muslims and Christians should spend more time understanding these commonalities.

Mohammad Al Ghazoli was raised a Muslim. But the more he read the ancient literature of Islam, the more convinced he became that Allah could not be the True God. And the more he studied the life of Muhammad, the more obvious it became that Muhammad was not God's prophet. Then one day, someone placed a Bible in his hands and said, "Read." Soon Ghazoli had found the True God, and forgiveness through His Son. This book isn't just Ghazoli's testimony. It is much more than that. It contains the facts from the literature of Islam that shows why Allah can't possibly be the True God. It gives proof from Islam itself that whenever Muhammad wanted more wives, or riches, or when he had a problem, Gabriel was always standing by, ready to give another verse to exempt Muhammad from the law and morality. How convenient! Many of the stories in the book will be unfamiliar to the Western reader, but very familiar to Muslims. It is this inside view of things that makes the book so powerful as a witnessing tool for Muslims. Over and over again, Ghazoli asks, Is this the behavior of a prophet who was sent by God? What kind of god would send a prophet like that? The arguments contained in this book will give you powerful evidence you can show to Muslims you may try to witness to. Because it is written by a respected Arab writer, who was an advisor to the Arab league and even to Libyan ruler Qhadaffi, you can give the book to a Muslim and tell him, "Read." Learn about: The 220 contradictions in the Quran. Verses which reverse and replace prior verses. Did Allah make a mistake? The verses used to justify terrorism. Even the Quran admits Jesus was crucified! Then it denies it. Muhammad's 23 marriages, including one to a little girl.

Jesus and Muhammad presents for the first time the sayings of Jesus from the New Testament and the parallel teachings of Muhammad found in the Koran and Hadith. These quotes clearly show that the core values of Christianity - love, peace, compassion, forgiveness, and repentence - match the central tenets of Islam and demonstrate that despite centuries of conflict, these two religions possess a common moral and spiritual foundation.

he book presented is written to answer many important reader questions, both classical and modern. It is, not a surprise, that many previous books on comparison between the Islam and Christianity were written from the Christian position; even in scholarly research Islam has been seen through the lens of Christian religion and in the pattern of Christian belief. In contrast, the book by Elena Trencevska & Timurlenk Cekovikj "From Jesus to Muhammed" presents another point of view. It is written not to "refute" some other religions, but, first of all, to present the truth of early religious history. At the beginning of the book, the authors present a background of early Christianity and tries to reconstruct the true teaching of Jesus. Nowadays, due to apocrypha and availability of other early writings, one may see many other stories of Christianity, which are so far from ,,canonical", knowing that many religious groups pretended to be the real followers of Jesus. Many parts of the book are dedicated to the personality of Jesus and development of his image in both Christianity and Islam. Today, when we compare the Quranic view of Jesus to the early Christian sources, we may see many similar stories (for example, the Quranic narration about God's creation of birds made of clay through Jesus). This represents that Jesus (for example, his early life) is a great mystery of history; but since we have a very small account about this in the Quran and in the Bible, no one has a real proof to speculate about this. And this is why this book calls us not to start some polemics, but to consider the sacred text which gives the most authoritative stories to the believers.

The days when western Christians could ignore the influence of Islam are over. Today as never before, the world’s second largest religion is shaping our culture, and words such as jihad, imam, Quran, and fatwa have entered our vocabulary. While all Muslims are no more alike than all Christians are alike, there are certain fundamental beliefs that all Muslims hold in common—some of which Christians would agree with, including belief in one true God. But is it the same God? How does the God of Muhammad differ from the God of Christianity? Written in a clear, passionate style that is conciliatory, balanced, and uncompromisingly biblical, this book describes and contrasts the distinctives of Christianity and Islam. Its author, a noted historian and theologian who has studied Islam for many years, writes with an eye on helping Christians better understand how to interact with Muslims. Beginning with an overview of Islam—what it is and how it arose—here are fascinating and relevant insights on · the Five Pillars of Islam · the role of religious violence from the Crusades onward · the doctrine of the Trinity and the character of God · Christian and Muslim views of Jesus Christ and salvation · what Christians can learn from Muslims · how Christians can share Christ with their Muslim neighbors . . . and more
