A superbly designed volume on the father of participatory sculpture The interrelationship of media and the participatory component of art are central to this career-spanning monograph of the work of German artist Franz Erhard Walther (born 1939). Proceeding from his earliest works, his Word Images, brightly colored monochrome works, to his influential First Work Set presented at the revolutionary Spaces show at MoMA in 1969, one of the earliest artworks designed to be manipulated by the public and on to his large scale textile works from the 1970s to now that combine aspects of performance, painting, sculpture and architecture, Shifting Perspectives demonstrates how Walther has pioneered intermedia and participatory art. This beautiful volume reflects the colorful textile materials that Walther picked up from pop art and has used throughout his career, with special colored page edges and a clothbound cover.

This book brings together multidisciplinarity, desirability and possibility of consilience of borderline studies which are topically diverse and methodologically innovative. It includes contemporary tribal issues within anthropology and other disciplines. In addition, the chapters underline the analytical sophistication, theoretical soundness and empirical grounding in the area of emerging core perspectives in tribal studies. The volume alludes to the emergence of tribal studies as an independent academic discipline of its own rights. It offers the opportunity to consider the entire intellectual enterprise of understanding disciplinary and interdisciplinary dualism, to move beyond interdisciplinarity of the science-humanities divide and to conceptualise a core of theoretical perspectives in tribal studies. The book proves an indispensable reference point for those interested in studying tribes in general and who are engaged in the process of developing tribal studies as a discipline in particular.

MISperformance: essays in shifting perspectives is a collection of essays that address a spectrum of cultural, organizational, technological, ecological, political and daily performances by focusing on the causes and consequences of a misfire, misconception, misrecognition, misnaming, misfitting etc. Aspects and impacts of MISperformance that are susceptible to provoking disturbances, distortions, alternations, abortions, if not disasters within diverse spheres of private and social life, including aesthetic and political practices, are investigated in the light of their potentially both regressive, even tragic outcome, and resistant, even transgressive efficacy, as also the absence or abandonment of any reason in or for performance.

Maria Scott's interpretation of Le Spleen de Paris opens up the text to new and original readings, whilst offering an incisive critique of the existing scholarship in the field. In its cogent and subtle analyses, Scott's book offers an explanation of the reader blindness and competing perspectives that the prose poems provoke and re-frames the critical debate. Full of readings of individual prose poems, Baudelaire's 'Le Spleen de Paris' also makes an important contribution to our understanding of Baudelairean duplicity and to the highly productive, critical unease it generates.

A thought-provoking art book exploring changing landscapes through the pioneering work of Canadian photographer Sylvia Grace Borda. Sylvia Grace Borda made a substantial debut into new media and photo art when she launched Every Bus Stop in Surrey, BC.With this piece, Borda reclaimed California coastal conceptual photo strategies from the 1960s and used them to document a large Canadian city by its own transit system. This marked her entry into international recognition. Since then, Borda has undertaken epic projects to re-imagine urban spaces, from the "New Towns" of East Kilbride and Glenrothes in Scotland to modernist faith buildings in Northern Ireland. In this dazzling new monograph, Sylvia's exceptional body of work is examined and placed in both a regional and international context. Specifically, her practice developed in Surrey is examined in relation to art history, the Vancouver School of Art, digital media, community engagement, and projects concluded in Scotland, Northern Ireland, and Finland. Featuring essays by renowned curators, artists, and scholars--each presenting specific perspectives on how Borda's diverse arts practice has shifted and expanded the mediums of art, photography, and social awareness--Sylvia Grace Borda: Shifting Perspectivesconstructs a conversation between the remembrance of place and current narratives in art history.

Nothing turns an empath against you like trying to change his or her sensitive and empathetic nature. Empaths are very different from most people you may be used to. If you rub him or her the wrong way, life feels like you are chewing on an aloe vera. They deeply love - and so they also deeply hurt. Once you hurt an empath, he or she will feel disconnected from you as long as the pain exists. It means that no love will exist for you until healing happens. On the plus side, an empath does not know how to hate - he or she forgives quickly so that they can feel harmony and balance within themselves. An empath always seeks peace and inner harmony all the time. The reason why an empath keeps chasing you is that they need to confront the situation so that he or she can find reconciliation within themselves, Unfortunately, you learn that chasing the runner only complicates the situation. You have no control over the situation and your divine partner. If you have chased a Twin Flame before, you learn that your deep love and affection that you express to the runner ground him or her. You are the anchor; you remind your runner Twin Flame how to love themselves.Chasing seems obsessive and negative from the 3D perspective but you learn that chasing amplifies your Twin Flame's running but it also accelerates their healing process. If you are going through the running and chasing cycle, do not fret it - your runner loves you more than you imagine and he or she appreciates you for being you. You are home to his or her Soul. Please remember that Twin Flame empaths are sensitive, intuitive, easily overexcited. They cry and see beauty everywhere. They feel the pain of others. So don't try to change him or her - it won't work - you will be shut down immediately. Is your Twin Flame an empath?

Maria Scott's study of the operation of irony in Baudelaire's Le Spleen de Paris contends that the principal target of the collection's spleen is its own readership. Baudelaire, as one of the most perceptive cultural commentators of the nineteenth century, was naturally very keenly aware of the growing dominance of the bourgeoisie in France, not least as a market for art and literature. Despite being dependent on this market for his own writing, the poet was highly critical of bourgeois values and attitudes. Scott builds on existing criticism of the collection to argue that these are indirectly mocked in Le Spleen de Paris, often in the person of the poet's supposed textual alter ego. The contention is that the prose poems betray the trust of readers by way of an apparent transparency of meaning that functions to blind us to their embedded irony. Though focused on Le Spleen de Paris, Scott's study engages with the full range of Baudelaire's writings, including his art and literary criticism. Her book will be of interest not only to Baudelaire scholars but also to those engaged more generally with nineteenth-century French culture.
