This book contains a collection of easy to read biblical skits and devotionals with an emphasis on evangelism. These writings are designed to be used for various aspects of church ministry. Though initially written with youth groups in mind, these skits and devotionals are not limited in their appeal to all ages. Each skit is based on scriptures from the Holy Bible and injects dialogue from everyday life. The shortness of each skit makes them adaptable for use in enhancing a regular worship service as an added feature or as the main feature of the program. All writings are designed to positively impact people and to create versatility in the method of spreading the gospel to all generations. The format of each work is simple, yet effective in providing interesting, informative, and spiritual messages. The length of each performance can be varied through the inclusion or elimination of songs. Successful performances can be rendered without hours of rehearsal and preparation. Speaking parts can be read or memorized without depreciating the effectiveness of the underlying message. Program committee leaders for women's auxiliaries, brotherhoods, usher boards, choirs, and youth groups can use these writings in their monthly or annual programs. Since each skit has only a few characters, each work is adaptable for groups of any size. Flexibility in altering the method of presentation without changing the message affords the users an opportunity to customize a skit to meet their specific needs. Each skit has been successfully presented by several church organizations of which I am affiliated. This book, Write, is designed to glorify God, magnify Jesus Christ, and spread the gospel throughout the world.

The sensational second thriller in the Carnivia Trilogy, from a Sunday Times bestseller. The girl in the feathered mask was just another Carnival reveller. She was dancing in the streets at midnight, anonymous in the Venice crowds. So nobody noticed when she was bundled into a van and driven high into the hills. Nobody heard her scream. Captain Kat Tapo, of the Venice police, is considered too headstrong to lead a high-profile kidnap case. But Kat has reasons of her own to mount a secret investigation. What she discovers will rewrite the past... and send shockwaves into the present. This is the second novel in a trilogy of stylish and intelligent thrillers set in Venice from Jonathan Holt who, under the name J.P. Delaney, is also the author of the Sunday Times bestselling psychological thrillers THE GIRL BEFORE and BELIEVE ME. Reviews for the Carnivia Trilogy: 'A genuinely thrilling thriller that is also an illuminating portrait of a particular world... A terrific book' Literary Review. 'Tense and mind-bending' Daily Telegraph. 'Breathtaking ... A truly haunting glimpse into a mysterious shadow world' New York Times. 'Impressive ... The characters are strong and Venice is a magnificent backdrop for a story of secrets and lies' Daily Mail. 'A cracking, upmarket thriller ... A rare entertainment for the thinking deckchair reader' Saga Magazine.

The process of understanding a text from the narrator's point of view is crucial for the tasks of interpreting and translating the Bible. If the translator's understanding of a narrative from the narrator's point of view is erroneous, then the wholeprocess of translating the message into another language may also fall into error. This poses Bible translators a difficult challenge: 'How can we understand the narrator's point of view of the biblical stories which are culturally, geographically, and historically remote from our own?' Understanding a text from the narrator's point of view must precede the translation process. In this work Hankore presents an argument for the intended utterance of Genesis 28:10-35:15 before proposing in briefhow to translate it. By following this process, Hankore shows that a correct understanding of the concept of the ancient Israelite vow in the framework of a social institution is fundamental to reading and translating Genesis 28:10-35:15, and goes on to show how this same votive framework assists an explanation of the relevance of Genesis 34 to the Jacob story.
