In The Collaborative Leader, L. Michael Hall and Ian McDermott answer key questions about leadership. What is collaboration? How does it relate to leadership? How do you do it effectively? How do you pull people together, inspire them with a meaningful vision, and organise them so that a team spirit emerges and peak performance is achieved? The Collaborative Leader is a practical guide to collaborating with others and leading collaboratively. That means learning how to win the hearts and minds of those who we lead. Packed with practical and immediate action points, the book will show you how to turn around a non-collaborative group or environment immediately. You will find assessment questions throughout, step-by-step processes on collaboration, and an invitation to action at the end of each chapter: a personal challenge to step up to the collaborative level of leadership. Learn the core competencies that facilitate a healthy, joyful, and productive collaboration. The foundation of collaborative leadership is self-collaboration. The leader who cannot effectively collaborate cannot effectively lead. If you are to walk your talk, you need to demonstrate collaborative skills yourself, and this book will show you the ‘how to’s’ for developing the critical success elements of leadership. The best collaborators are those who have lots of fun collaborating. The goal can be serious. The collaboration can be fun. Learn how it’s possible by understanding the structure and processes of collaboration. Whether you’re responsible for team or organisational development, you’ll find plenty here to inspire you to transform your leadership into collaborative leadership. The Future of the Past is a biennial conference generally carried out during the commemoration date of the incorporation of Santa Ana de Los Ríos de Cuenca Ecuador as a World Heritage Site (WHS). It initiated in 2014, organized by the City Preservation Management research project (CPM) of the University of Cuenca, to create a space for dialoguing among interested actors in the cultural heritage field. Since then, this space has served to exchange initiatives and to promote coordinated actions based on shared responsibility, in the local context. The third edition of this conference took place in the context of the 20th anniversary of being listed as WHS and a decade of CPM as the Southern host of the PRECOM3OS UNESCO Chair (Preventive Conservation, Maintenance and Monitoring of Monuments and Sites). For the very first time, and thanks to the collaboration with the Raymond Lemaire International Centre for Conservation of the University of Leuven (Belgium), the conference expanded its local scope. On this occasion, contributions reflected round a worldwide challenge in the cultural field: revealing the paths towards participatory governance of cultural heritage. Participatory governance is understood as institutional decision-making structures supported by shared responsibilities and rights among diverse actors.

As the number of postmodern theoretical contributions to the literature of psychology has grown, so have postmodernism's appeals and recognitions of its relevance. Many of these writings suggest practical applications, yet there is a gap in the literature between theoretical explications and in-depth accounts of the many forms of everyday practice that flow from it. The proposed work will provide a means to bridge this gap. "Invitations" will be a practice and guide book that brings together a collection of applications, innovations, and expansions of postmodern collaborative therapy with an emphasis on clinical practice. A wide variety of professionals from diverse disciplines, contexts, and cultures will detail what they actually do in their therapy practices. The book will also demonstrate the extension and usefulness of a postmodern collaborative approach to the domains of education, research, and organizations. The text is divided into three sections. Each section provides descriptions of the application to a specific population, problem, or context. Section one provides the historical and theoretical background of collaborative therapy. Section two focuses on a variety of psychotherapeutic specialties including domestic violence, the elderly, chronic illness, eating disorders, and children. Section three offers examples of how postmodern perspective can be put into action

Collaborative teaching and learning has been a focus of research recently, yet it can sometimes be a challenge for multicultural students in an educational setting. This second volume of a two-volume edition helps lecturers, educators, and teachers create collaborative teaching and learning experiences with multicultural adult learners in higher education. The authors of this volume provide: outlines of some of the positive relationships that can be developed among students and educators when the process of gaining knowledge is seen as a co-constructed process, approaches to relational intelligence and collaborative learning, research from neuropsychology and practical applications to teaching, and characterizations of emotional intelligence and sociocognitive skills needed in collaborative learning environments. Though focused on Asian students and their experiences, this volume includes information for all students and educators who are engaged in the collaborative search for knowledge. This is the 143rd volume of this Jossey-Bass higher education series. It offers a comprehensive range of ideas and techniques for improving college teaching based on the experience of seasoned instructors and the latest findings of educational and psychological researchers.
