How well do we know our vocational purpose? How do our life circumstances cause us to reconsider our vocational purpose? How can we know if we are living the life to which God is calling us? This book tells the story of author Richard Ray as he searches for answers to these questions while making a pilgrimage to the shrine of St. James on the Camino de Santiago. Human beings have sought meaning for their lives through transcendent experiences for thousands of years. The pilgrimage is one such transcendent experience. A practice that has a place in all of the world’s great religions, the act of pilgrimage, is many things to many pilgrims—retreat, extended prayer, penance for sins, an opening to spiritual or religious conversion. This book provides readers with an opportunity to learn more about pilgrims and pilgrimage, including historical, religious, cultural, artistic, and economic perspectives—all through the journey of an experienced pilgrim. Readers will, perhaps, begin to frame their worldview through the lens of pilgrimage and to conceive of their lives as purposeful journeys to God.

“I Would Fly To Where You Are,” is, a collection of poetry written during the height of the COVID – 19. Reflective of each and everyone’s love and desire to be with their loved ones - the special occasions we all missed to celebrate together like birthdays, anniversaries, baptisms, and many other milestones, and also, reflective of the moment we failed to say our final goodbyes to our loved ones who went ahead of us during the pandemic. This is a collection of poetry on love; love, surviving against all odds.

The mansion was gone. My nightmare was over. From the ashes of Cee, I became Charlie again—with him. We are two broken souls who have found peace in each other’s arms. We paint a brighter future that’s filled with art and life and love. The seduction of our shadowed pasts pulls at us, but as long as we are together, light will triumph. Cameron brought the sun to me, and for that, I can never repay him. But, when my past and present collide, he might never be able to forgive me. Some debts can only be paid in pain.

When I was twelve, a fortune teller told me that my one true love would die young and leave me all alone. Everyone said she was a fraud, that she was just making it up. I'd really like to know why the hell a person would make up a thing like that. Wry yet vulnerable, Beatrice Jordan isn't the sort of woman who usually answers personal ads but she is unable to resist the following: 'If your intentions are pure, I am seeking a friend for the end of the world.' In doing so, she meets Jacob Grace, a charming, effervescent thirty-something writer, a free spirit who is a passionate seeker of life. He possesses his own turn of phrase and ways of thinking and feeling that dissonantly harmonise with Beatrice's off-centre vision as they roller coaster through the joys and furies of their heart-wrenching romance. Along the way they try to come to terms with the hurt brought about by their distant fathers who, in different ways, forsook them.

Displays for the first time the complete work of a neglected poetic genius Although best known as C. S. Lewis's wife, Joy Davidman was a gifted writer herself who produced, among other things, two novels and an award-winning volume of poetry in her short lifetime. The first comprehensive collection of Davidman's poetry, A Naked Tree includes the poems that originally appeared in her Letter to a Comrade (1938), forty other published poems, and more than two hundred previously unpublished poems that came to light in a remarkable 2010 discovery. Of special interest is Davidman's sequence of forty-five love sonnets to C. S. Lewis, which offer stunning evidence of her spiritual struggles with regard to her feelings for Lewis, her sense of God's working in her lonely life, and her mounting frustration with Lewis for keeping her at arm's length emotionally and physically. Readers of these Davidman poems -- arranged chronologically by Don King -- will discover three recurring, overarching themes: God, death, and immortality; politics, including capitalism and communism; and (the most by far) romantic, erotic love. This volume marks Joy Davidman as a figure to be reckoned with in the landscape of twentieth-century American poetry.
