This book is about a subject near and dear to my heart— never giving up. Needless to say, I have a lot of experience in this area, so I feel I have some insight on the subject. I’ve written a number of books already, and I don’t need the money, but it’s a subject I feel strongly enough about to take the time to write about it. The first big “No” that hit me came when I was first starting out in Manhattan in the 1970s, and everyone—and I mean everyone—told me that it was a terrible time for real estate. Even people who were well established were saying that. What they were saying was true—the market had definitely cooled, and there was no denying that fact. Even worse, there was serious talk about New York City going bankrupt. Then the federal government announced a moratorium on housing subsidies. The city had been receiving them in abundance, and suddenly, that was no more. If I’d only considered the facts, which weren’t too rosy, there is no way I would have ventured into real estate. But I did. Why? Because when I hear the word “No” it becomes a challenge to me. I believe the so-called impossible is actually very often possible, if you’re willing to work very hard, and if you realize that problems can become opportunities. New York City was having problems, but maybe I could do something about those problems. That kind of attitude can give you the power to conquer obstacles and succeed in the face of long odds. I want this book to help you do just that. As I went along, I realized that every project came with its own set of major challenges, and I began to learn to expect them. That was okay because I was prepared. That’s another reason I’m writing Never Give Up—to let you know you should be prepared and to try to help you with the situations you might encounter. Our experiences will not be the same, but I’ve learned a great deal from reading about other people and history and by applying what I’ve learned to my own circumstances. My hope is that you will do the same. Learn from my problems and experiences, and you’ll do a better job of anticipating and solving your own. And remember, the way I see it, the bigger the problem, the bigger your chance for greatness. One thing I’ve learned is that discouragement should not be tolerated for very long. It’s okay to get fed up a bit and maybe gripe for a minute or two. Personally, I like to go golfing when I’m stressed or just swing a club in my office. But feeling negative should be a very temporary state of mind. It’s hard, but there is a form of mental courage that can be cultivated—and you will see in the following chapters some examples of how I dealt with some pretty big blows and setbacks. Of course, a lot I NTRODUC T ION of things are just irritating—so don’t be surprised and don’t overestimate them in your mind. Learn to put them in perspective. You’ll see in this book how I learned to do that. Having confidence in yourself is key to being resilient and staring adversity in the face. This book is dedicated to giving you that foundation of confidence—and the ability—and desire—to never give up! See you in the winner’s circle. DONALD J. TRUMP

The most unusual feature of Donald Trump's nationalist and populist campaign for the presidency of the USA was his obsessive use of Twitter. Like other social media, this form of communication has often been assumed to encourage the dissemination of liberal values and the circulation of facts. Trump's tweets, by contrast, formed a constant stream of provocations, insults, conspiracy theories, 'alternative facts' and outright lies. And they helped him win power. Peter Oborne, author of The Rise of Political Lying and Not The Chilcot Report, analyses Trump's incendiary mendacity in all its bewildering guises, and shows how this fusion of entertainment and cunningly crafted propaganda has destabilized the world's most powerful democracy.

From award-winning reporter and author of Pieces of Intelligence: The Existential Poetry of Donald H. Rumsfeld comes this collection of poems mined from the interviews, speeches, and tweets of Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump. The Vicious Ones I was attacked viciously By those women, Of course, it's very hard for them To attack me on looks, Because I'm so good looking. But I was attacked very viciously By those women. --August 9, 2015, NBC’s Meet the Press Straight from the mouth of “the Donald” himself, this treasury of spoken poetry—not a word is changed—has been culled from nearly 30 years of interviews, speeches, tweets, and ramblings from Presidential candidate and billionaire Donald Trump. Since the 1980s, Trump has built his verses like his casinos, using only the highest quality words and phrases, regardless of cost. He’s run a real estate empire, achieved a net worth of ten billion dollars, scripted best-sellers, and starred in the top-rated TV show “The Apprentice.” Like a colossus, he bestrides the cultural world as if it were the bottle-strewn boardwalk of Atlantic City. But until now, Trump’s poetry—delivered spontaneously in moments of enduring clarity—has gone unnoticed, (making it the only aspect of Trump to be that way.) On a regular basis, The Donald speaks, tweets and hollers his verses—always without the needless restrictions of political correctness and grammar… because among world class poets, there don’t be no grammar, there only be truth… big time! Whether you’re a Trump debunker or admirer, The Bard of the Deal will delight, shock, and entertain you. So prepare to be Trumped by the ten billion dollar poetry of the ten billion dollar bard. This is the art of the poem.

Why do American husbands come home from work too exhausted to interact with their families? When did a healthy quest for prosperity become a twisted game no one can win? How did BlackBerries and internet porn become more interesting to men than their flesh-and-blood spouses? Shmuley Boteach has made a great study of how families live today—both in his work as a rabbi privately and as host of TLC's "Shalom in the Home". He's discovered a disturbing common thread in the families he meets: men responding to the pressure of competition in their work lives by turning away from their loved ones. In a world that judges men by the size of their paychecks and the wattage of their fame, it's all too easy to lose sight of what is truly valuable in life. Men who consider themselves failures and don't love themselves turn into stressed-out dads, distracted husbands and miserable human beings. For these men, alcohol, the internet and sporting events serve as numbing stand-ins for read life. In THE BROKEN AMERICAN MALE, Boteach doesn't just outline the problems facing marriages and nuclear families. He also offers practical, inspiring solutions, showing how wives can reach out to their husbands, helping them become heroes again to their own families.
